Lesson Learned: DO NOT PUT GAS IN A DIESEL CAR.
Luckily I didn't start the car because that would have added another $1000 to the bill.
I grew accustomed to look for a GREEN handle when filling up with diesel. Sinclair chose to use GREEN for Regular Unleaded. I submitted all my receipts to Sinclair and was denied reimbursement because the pump was clearly marked and there is no industry standard for fuel coloring schemes. Which is retarded. I can only suspect and blame a marketing idiot that drove the color scheme, the same one that won the Superbowl pool because they liked a teams colors. I know I should have read the pump before it was too late and I know it is buyer beware. I also know people get millions for slipping in their own vomit at Wal-Mart. Where is the justice?

The Secret of the Buried Bone
Gema takes care of Indy like she was her pup.

Shiny Black Girls
They both love the grass and their Frisbees.

Sego Lilly (Calochortus nuttallii)
We were pleasantly surprised to see this flower in our back yard amongst the sagebrush. This is Utah's state flower. The Ute indians taught the Mormon settlers to eat the bulbs in times of scarcity.

River Girls
These two were exhausted at this point. They had been in and out of the Colorado river for about an hour. We got them home and gave them a bath, then they took the rest of the day off! It was Gema's birthday swim, she turned 4 on May 30.

Goats Like to Party Too!
We forgot our camera at Julies so she napped a few pics of her pigmy goats the next morning. The goats were out on the other end of the pasture when Julie called them over and treated them to potatoe chips.

Plateau Valley Cagers
Star basketball players from the day, Delle, Missy Encke, and Wendy Peden. Wendy's son graduated this year and enlisted with the Navy and is going to SEAL school.

Highschool Buddies
Our Plateau Valley grad invite was from Signa Fox for daughter Whitney. She actually graduated from Fruita High School but the family lives in Mesa. Signa and Delle go way back and have lots of fun stories.
There is an optical illusion where Delle looks like she has a giant arm that wraps around Signa.

Silt BBQ with the Chavez's
Greg Chavez doesn't have a satellite dish growing out of his head, I think. We had a great time with Greg, Julie, Joelle, and Mr. Dorrrrrsey.

Memorial Day on the Western Slope
We took the Debeque cuttoff up to Mesa to attend a graduation party for Plateau Valley kiddo's. Someone had smoked a bunch of pork and made some tastey sauce. We headed back to attend another BBQ in Silt with the Chavez's. Greg cooked up some excellent Elk sausage and brats. We then headed back home to rescue and feed the girls. I headed down to Bill Gibson's for a couple more beers and got my butt handed to me playing foosball. Busy day.

Greene's Fox
This is one of two foxes that like hanging out on this rock.

Recipe du Jour
Mixed Up Chicks
Delle saw this on the Today show. We really like this recipe. Click on the picture for a close up and to print.

Delle's Flower Baskets v2007
This is one of her favorite things to do. We now have nice flowers on the porch and on the back deck. The next two nights will be a test, temps will drop down to 32F. Springtime in the Rockies!

Chainsaw Repairman
I borrowed Mr. Greene's good chainsaw and broke the handle off the case. The new part only cost $180, ouch! It only took me a couple of hours to tear it down and rebuild. It was a pretty dirty job. Stihl 038AV, runs like a top. Btw, the only band i know that used a chainsaw as an axe is Jackal, I missed my metal calling.

Silt Dog Park
Me and my two dog faced girls met the Dorsey's and their dog faced girls at the Silt boat ramp too early on Saturday morning. The girls did very well swimming in the swift ice cold Colorado river. They met lots of other fun dogs and everyone got along. We love to swim! I can't wait for the water to warm up in July so I can go swimming with the girls.

May BBQ - Ted and Conor
Yup, just sittin' back in dad's lap. In a couple weeks dad will have his 65 Mustang ready to roll, and in a few years I'll have my very own 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' with that car.

May BBQ - The Dorrrrrrsey's
Michael Martin Dorsey is our Okoboji Pirate. "Aye, if it's a large treasure chest and amazin' booty ye seek, fix yer gaze upon my wife Joelle"

May BBQ - 3 Amigos
Chuck Simonson, KR Weatherly, Jerry Greene. Now Famous!
These guys have been buddies since the earth was hot. Chuck and KR were in the same graduating class. Jerry and Chuck used to race snow machines up the Cline Tops road. In fact, Chuck was born up 245 Road where the old store and post office used to be. Only the old timers will know the spot, a grove of mature Aspens stand in place of those forgotten buildings. It's a treat to golf with these guys to hear the countless stories and well delivered jokes!

Secret: Grow Seedlings with Gardenia Aroma
Our Gardenia is having fun watching these youngsters grab some roots. I'll need to transplant into much bigger pots today. I didn't realize these things would grow so fast. 630 has a bad leaf because Indy wanted to taste. I think it will be ok, the 630 is actually the larger of the two plants. Tim met the grower at Creekside, that's where these seeds were grown.

That's some hi-quality H2O
Adding a new zone for the pumpkin patch was relatively easy, the hard part was shelling out the $88 for parts. This new setup allows for me to expand the zones with minimal effort. I plan to install a retaining wall and plant some shrubbery maybe this year.
